The All Kids program in the State of Illinois went into effect this summer. All Kids offers many Illinois children comprehensive healthcare that covers doctors visits, hospital stays, prescription drugs, vision and dental care as well as medical devices such as eyeglasses and asthma inhalers. Some families pay monthly premiums for the coverage, but rates for middle-income families are significantly lower than they are on the private market. For instance, a qualifying family of four can pay a $40 monthly premium per child with a $10 co-pay per physician visit.
The criteria for enrollment for children in the All Kids health insurance program are:
- They live in Illinois.
- They are age 18 or younger.
- They meet the insurance requirements for All Kids.
- Their family’s income meets the All Kids income limit.
